And Jacob's well was there. Jesus, therefore, being wearied with His journey, sat thus upon the well. It was about the sixth hour.

And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterwards hungry.

And behold, a great tempest arose in the sea, so much so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep.

And she brought forth her son, the First-born, and wrapped Him, and laid Him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.

And Jesus said to him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble because he sees the light of the world.

Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, and his children and his cattle?

Then He came to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, Give me to drink.

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, for your sakes He became poor, in order that you might be made rich through His poverty.

Therefore in all things it behoved him to be made like His brothers, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of His people.

For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted just as we are, yet without sin.
