So they drew up Jeremiah with ropes and took him up out of the pit. And Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

And they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, which was in the court of the prison. And they let Jeremiah down with ropes. And there was no water in the pit, only mud. So Jeremiah sank into the mud.

O Lord, You strove for the causes of my soul; You redeemed my life.

he said, I will hear you when your accusers have also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's Praetorium.

But after two years Felix welcomed a successor, Porcius Festus. And wishing to show a favor to the Jews, Felix left Paul bound.

And when we came into Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the camp commander. But Paul was allowed to dwell by himself, with a soldier guarding him.

And Paul remained two years in his own hired house. And he welcomed all who came in to him,
