What is my strength, that I should hope? And what is my end, that I should be patient?

Remember that my life is a breath; my eye shall no more see good.

I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days; Your years are through the generation of generations.

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, so that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;
