Therefore the strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt shall be your curse.

Now, behold, you trust on the staff of this bruised reed, on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust on him.

Give us help from trouble; for vain is the deliverance of man.

Trust in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.

And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their hope, and of Egypt their glory.

And he who lives in this coast shall say in that day, Behold, this has become of our hope to which we fled for help there, to be delivered from before the king of Assyria; and, How shall we escape?

Why do you go about so much to change your way? You also shall be ashamed of Egypt, as you were ashamed of Assyria.

For so says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: As My anger and My fury has been poured forth on the people of Jerusalem, so shall My fury be poured forth on you when you shall enter into Egypt. And you shall be a curse, and a wonder, and a shame, and a reproach; and you shall see this place no more.

And therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the plague, in the place where you desire to go to live.

Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: Behold, I will punish the multitude of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods and their kings; even Pharaoh and all who trust in him;

When they took you by your hand, you broke and tore off all their shoulder. And when they leaned on you, you shattered and made all their loins stand.

It shall also be carried to Assyria for a present to King Jareb. Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

For the Scripture says, "Everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame."

And hope does not make us ashamed, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us.
