Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done, and on the labor that I had labored to do; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit; and there is no profit under the sun.
And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Remember, I pray, how short my time is; why have You made all men in vain?
And Moses looked upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it. As Jehovah commanded, even so they had done it. And Moses blessed them.
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
And I gave my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly; I know that this also is vexation of spirit.
What is the profit to a man in all his labor which he labors under the sun?
What profit does he have who works in that in which he labors?
He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver, and he who loves abundance not with gain. This is also vanity.
And this also is a sore evil, that in all, as he came, so shall he go; and what profit does he have who has labored for the wind?
Behold, is it not for Jehovah of Hosts that the people labor only for fire; yea, the nations weary themselves only for vanity?
But godliness with contentment is great gain.
