You shall not despise an Edomite, for he is your brother. You shall not despise an Egyptian, because you were a stranger in his land.

Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

You shall neither vex a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

The stranger that dwells with you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself. For you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am Jehovah your God.

And Joseph nourished his father and his brothers, and all his father's household, with bread, for the mouth of the little ones.

The land of Egypt is before you. Make your father and brothers to live in the best of the land; in the land of Goshen let them live. And if you know men of ability among them, then make them overseers of livestock, over what is mine.

His sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed, he brought with him into Egypt.

The sons that are born to them shall enter into the congregation of Jehovah in their third generation.

And he was a foe to Israel all the days of Solomon, besides the mischief which Hadad did. And he hated Israel and reigned over Syria.

And now do not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters to your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth forever, so that you may be strong and eat the good of the land and leave it for an inheritance to your sons forever.
