But Jehovah your God would not listen to Balaam, but Jehovah your God turned the curse to a blessing to you, because Jehovah your God loved you.

It may be that Jehovah will look on my affliction, and that Jehovah will repay me with good for his cursing this day.

because they did not meet the sons of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them so that he should curse them. But our God turned the curse into a blessing.

A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, to the pure of heart.

As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse without cause shall not come.

And the Angel of Jehovah said to Balaam, Go with the men. But only the word that I shall speak to you, that you shall speak. So Balaam went with the leaders of Balak.

He sent messengers therefore to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor, by the river of the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying, Behold! A people come out from Egypt. Behold! They cover the face of the earth, and they are staying across from me.

He crouched. He lay down as a lion, and as a great lion. Who shall stir him up? Blessed is he who blesses you, and cursed is he who curses you.

Indeed as regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes. But as regards the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

As it is written, "Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated."

For the lightness of our present affliction works out for us a far more excellent eternal weight of glory,

as the sons of Esau who live in Seir, and the Moabites who live in Ar, did to me, until I shall cross over Jordan into the land which Jehovah our God gives us.

Yea, He loved the people. All His saints are in Your hand, and they sat down at Your feet. Everyone shall receive of Your words.

And because He loved your fathers, therefore He chose their seed after them, and brought you out in His sight with His mighty power out of Egypt,

But I would not listen to Balaam. And he still blessed you. And I delivered you out of his hand.
