And it happened when Ahab heard these words, he tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth and walked softly.

because your heart was tender and you have humbled yourself before Jehovah, when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its people (that they should become a waste and a curse, and have torn your clothes and wept before Me), I have heard you, says Jehovah.

And now let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the women, and such as have been born of them, according to the counsel of the Lord, and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God. And let it be done according to the Law.

Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves to Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth of the month. And all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.

I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my judgment was like a robe and a diadem.

For the righteous Jehovah loves righteousness; His face looks on the upright.

My flesh trembles in fear of You; and I am afraid of Your judgments.

You love righteousness, and hate wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.

He will judge Your people in righteousness, and Your poor with judgment.

Jehovah reigns; let the peoples tremble. He sits between the cherubs; let the earth quake.

It is a hateful thing for kings to commit wickedness; for the throne is established by righteousness.

Rejoice, in your youth, young man; and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether evil.

If you see the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, do not marvel at the matter. For He who is higher than the highest watches; and there are some higher than they.

Come now, and let us reason together, says Jehovah; though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.

How has the faithful city become a harlot? It was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it, but now murderers.

And in mercy the throne shall be established; and he shall sit on it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging and seeking judgment, and speeding righteousness.

Tremble, women at ease; be troubled, careless ones; strip yourselves and make yourselves bare, and bind sackcloth on your loins.

Bring near your cause, says Jehovah; bring out your strong reasons, says the King of Jacob.

Seek Jehovah while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.

For I Jehovah love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.

For all those My hand has made, and all those exist, says Jehovah. But to this one I will look, to the afflicted and contrite spirit, and the one who trembles at My Word.

So says Jehovah, Do judgment and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the oppressors's hand. And do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place.

Is not My Word like a fire? says Jehovah; and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

And it happened when they had heard all the words, they turned to one another in fear and said to Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.

So says the Lord Jehovah: Enough for you, O rulers of Israel. Remove violence and spoil, and do judgment and justice. Take away your demands on My people, says the Lord Jehovah.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Therefore, O king, let my advice be pleasing to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, whether there will be duration to your prosperity.

In that night Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans was killed.

Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground. For it is time to seek Jehovah, until He comes and rains righteousness on you.

They have spoken words, swearing falsely in making a covenant. So judgment springs up like hemlock in the furrows of the field.

In the day of our king, the rulers have sickened themselves with the heat of wine. He stretches out his hand with scorners.

But let judgment roll down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream.

Shall horses run on the rock? Will one plow there with oxen? For you have turned justice into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into hemlock;

I heard and my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice. Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself that I might rest in the day of trouble; to come up against the people; he cuts him off.

So says Jehovah of Hosts, saying: This people says, The time has not come, the time that Jehovah's house should be built.

But not caring, they went their ways, one to his field, another to his trading.

And when that One comes, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.

And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained of God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.

But when the Jews from Thessalonica knew that the Word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the people.

And according to Paul's custom, he went in to them and reasoned with them out of the Scriptures on three sabbaths,

And hearing of a resurrection of the dead, some indeed mocked; and others said, We will hear you again concerning this.

And hearing this, they were stabbed in the heart, and said to Peter and to the other apostles, Men, brothers, what shall we do?

And I have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

He also hoped that silver would be given him by Paul, that he might free him. Therefore he also frequently sent for him and talked with him.

And Agrippa said to Paul, Do you persuade me to be a Christian in but a little?

And trembling and astonished, he said, Lord, what will You have me to do? And the Lord said to him, Arise and go into the city, and you shall be told what you must do.

I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.

So then each one of us will give account concerning himself to God.

in a day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall each one have praise of God.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the things done through the body, according to that which he has done, whether good or bad.

(For He says, "In an acceptable time I heard you, and in a day of salvation, I helped you;" Behold, now is the accepted time. Behold, now is the day of salvation.)

But the Scripture shut up all under sin, so that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Therefore I solemnly witness before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is going to judge the living and the dead according to His appearance and His kingdom,

but hospitable, a lover of good, discreet, just, holy, temperate,

and so fearful was the sight that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake).

But exhort one another daily, while it is called today, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Therefore, a promise being left to enter into His rest, let us fear lest any of you should seem to come short of it.

of the baptisms, of doctrine, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment,

You believe that there is one God, you do well; even the demons believe and tremble.

but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason of the hope in you, with meekness and fear;

and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control, patience, and with patience, godliness,

In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the Devil: everyone not practicing righteousness is not of God, also he who does not love his brother.

Little children, let no one deceive you. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as that One is righteous.

And now stand still, so that I may reason with you before Jehovah of all the righteous acts of Jehovah which He did to you and to your fathers.
