(For all the Athenians and strangers who were there spent their time in nothing else except to tell or to hear something newer.)
And those conducting Paul brought him to Athens. And receiving a command to Silas and Timothy to come to him with all speed, they departed.
But awaiting them in Athens, Paul's spirit was pained within him, seeing the city full of idols.
For you bring certain strange things to our ears, therefore we are minded to know what these things mean.
Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya around Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Walk in wisdom toward those on the outside, redeeming the time.
And with it all they also learn to be idle, going around the houses; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things they ought not.
