But the disobeying Jews becoming jealous, and having taken aside some wicked men of the market-loafers, and gathering a crowd, they set all the city in an uproar. And coming on the house of Jason, they sought to bring them out to the mob.

Therefore watch and remember that for the time of three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

And dissension arising, the chiliarch, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and to take him from among them by force, and to bring him into the fortress.

he said, I will hear you when your accusers have also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's Praetorium.

But after two years Felix welcomed a successor, Porcius Festus. And wishing to show a favor to the Jews, Felix left Paul bound.

which I also did in Jerusalem. And I shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests. And they being put to death, I cast a vote.

And Paul said, I would pray to God, both in a little and in much, that not only you, but also all hearing me today to become as I also am, except for these bonds.

And Paul remained two years in his own hired house. And he welcomed all who came in to him,

And laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the public custody.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace which was toward me has not been without fruit, but I labored more abundantly than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

Even until this present hour we both hunger and thirst and are naked and are buffeted and have no certain dwelling place.

Do not deprive one another, unless it is with consent for a time, so that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. And come together again so that Satan does not tempt you for your incontinence.

I have been in hardship and toil; often in watchings; in hunger and thirst; often in fastings; in cold and nakedness;

For this cause, I, Paul, am the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you nations,

He may give him forty stripes, no more, lest he should exceed and beat him above these with many stripes, then your brother would be dishonored before your eyes.

so that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places.

For, brothers, you remember our labor and toil. For laboring night and day in order not to put a burden on any one of you, we preached the gospel of God to you.

For to this we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the preserver of all men, especially of those who believe.

Therefore you should not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner. But be partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God,

in which I suffer ill as an evildoer, even to bonds. But the Word of God is not chained.

But you watch in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fully carry out your ministry.

And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings; yes, more, of bonds and imprisonments.

Yield to those leading you, and be submissive, for they watch for your souls, as those who must give account, that they may do it with joy and not with grief; for that is unprofitable for you.

Know that our brother Timothy has been set at liberty, with whom, if he comes shortly, I will see you.

Do not at all fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the Devil will cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tried. And you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.
