And He said to them, You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Jehovah ponders the hearts.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall each one have praise of God.

but in everything commending ourselves as God's servants, in much patience, in troubles, in emergencies, in distresses,

For he who serves Christ in these things is well-pleasing to God, and approved by men.

Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but are giving you occasion to glory on our behalf, so that you may have it to answer those boasting in appearance, and not in heart.

Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, like some, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?

For there must also be heresies among you, that the approved ones may be revealed among you.

Greet Apelles, approved in Christ. Greet those who are of Aristobulus' household.

Men, Israelites, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by powerful works, and wonders and miracles, which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know,

A man shall be praised according to his wisdom, but he who is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
