I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

Even as the Father knows Me, I also know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.

Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I might take it again.

No one has greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Who is he condemning? It is Christ who has died, but rather also who is raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

and He died for all, that the living ones may live no more to themselves, but to Him who died for them and having been raised.

But I would not have you ignorant, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, that you be not grieved, even as others who have no hope.

For we say this to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not go before those who are asleep.

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so we shall ever be with the Lord.

Therefore let us not sleep as the rest do, but let us watch and be calm.

who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

For faithful is the Word, for if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.

who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify to Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that dying to sins, we might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

For Christ also once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, indeed being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit;
