But David pursued, he and four hundred men. For two hundred stayed behind, who were too exhausted to go over the brook Besor.
Even the young shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall;
And Saul and all the people with him gathered, and they went to the battle. And, behold, every man's sword was against his fellow, a very great panic.
And they struck the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon, and the people were very faint.
And they found an Egyptian in the field and brought him to David and gave him bread, and he ate. And they made him drink water.
And David came to the two hundred who were too exhausted to follow David, whom they had made also to stay at the brook Besor. And they went out to meet David, and to meet the people with him. And David came up to the people, and greeted them.
So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those who were left behind stayed.
