The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.

Of the sons of Uzziel, Michah the first, and Jesiah the second.

And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but had daughters. And their brothers, the sons of Kish, took them.

And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, Gershon, Kohath and Merari.

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.

The sons of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

Shimea his son, Haggiah his son, Asaiah his son.

Eleazar fathered Phinehas. Phinehas fathered Abishua.

And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These were the families of Levi according to their generations.

Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites. These are the families of Merari.
