Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is at hand; the Lord has prepared the sacrifice; He has consecrated His guests.

“Since times of judgment are not kept by the Almighty, why do they who know Him not see His days?

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

I have commanded My sanctified ones, I have also called My mighty ones for My anger, even those who rejoice in My exaltation.

Wail, for the day of the Lord is at hand! It shall come as destruction from the Almighty.

For the day of the Lord of Hosts shall be upon everything that is proud and lofty, and upon everything that is lifted up, and it shall be brought low;

Yet I will distress Ariel, and she shall be a city of lamenting and sorrow, and she shall be as an Ariel to me.

For My sword has drunk its fill in heaven; behold, it shall come down for judgment on Edom, and on the people whom I have devoted to destruction.

The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made full with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

And I said: “Woe is me! For I am undone because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips. For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts.”

For this is the day of the Lord God of Hosts, a day of vengeance, so that He may avenge Himself of His adversaries. And the sword will devour; and it will be satiated and made drunk with their blood; for the Lord God of Hosts has a slaughter in the north country by the Euphrates River.

Behold, the day is coming! Behold, your doom has gone out; the rod has blossomed, pride has budded.

Your doom has come to you, O inhabitant in the land; the time has come, the day of trouble is near, and not the joyful shouting on the mountains.

Alas, for the day! For the day of the Lord is near, and like devastation from the Almighty it comes.

The Lord has sounded His voice before His army, for His camp is exceedingly great; mighty is the one who accomplishes His word. For great is the day of the Lord, and very awe-inspiring. Who can endure it?

The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awe-inspiring day of the Lord comes.

And when a relative or one who prepares the bodies picks them up to carry them out of the house, and says to someone in the recesses of the house, “Is anyone else with you?” and he says, “No,” he will say, “Hush!” —not to pronounce the name of the Lord.

“The songs of the temple shall become wailings on that day,” says the Lord God. “The corpses shall be many, cast down everywhere. Hush!”

But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.

The great day of the Lord is near, near and hastening quickly. The sound of the day of the Lord is bitter; the mighty man shall cry out there.

Behold, a day of the Lord is coming when your spoil will be divided in your midst.

Be still, all flesh before the Lord, for He is stirred from His holy habitation.

Surely the day is coming, burning like an oven; all the proud, yes, all evildoers will be stubble. The day that is coming will burn them up, says the Lord of Hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

“Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited: See, I have prepared my supper. My oxen and fattened calves are killed, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced, and all the world may become accountable to God.

Rather, O man, who are you to answer back to God? Shall the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?”

Let everyone come to know your gentleness. The Lord is near.

giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled us to be partakers in the inheritance of the saints in light.

And he said, “I have come in peace to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice.” And he consecrated Jesse and his sons and called them to the sacrifice.

Nevertheless Saul did not say anything that day. For he thought, “Something has happened. He is not clean; surely he is not clean.”
