And I asked, “What is it?” He said, “This is the ephah basket going forth. This represents their iniquity throughout all the land.”
You shall have honest balances, honest weights, an honest ephah, and an honest hin: I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Hear this, you who trample on the needy to make the poor of the land fail,
saying, “When will the New Moon be over, so that we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, that we may open the wheat sales, making the ephah too small, and the shekel too heavy, cheating with dishonest scales,
that we may buy the poor for silver, the needy for a pair of sandals, and sell the refuse as wheat?”
Are there still in the house of the wicked treasures of wickedness? And the short ephah which is accursed?
On that day I will punish all who step over the threshold, who fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit.
The lead cover was lifted, and there was a woman sitting in the ephah basket.
