What shall we say then? The Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith,

The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but He loves him who pursues righteousness.

He who pursues righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honor.

Listen to Me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were hewn and to the quarry from which you were dug.

for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

And Isaiah is very bold and says: “I was found by those who did not seek Me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for Me.”

But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous in taking vengeance? (I am speaking in human terms.)

And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith that he had while being uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them also,

It was not through the law that Abraham and his descendants received the promise that he would be the heir of the world, but through the righteousness of faith.

Therefore “it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Does this blessedness then come upon the circumcised only, or upon the uncircumcised also? We are saying that faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid!

but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, did not attain the law of righteousness.

yet we know that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but through faith in Jesus Christ. Even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, rather than by the works of the law. For by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

So the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel in advance to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

For we, through the Spirit, by faith, eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.

were at that time apart from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the world.

and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is of God on the basis of faith,

But you, O man of God, escape these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.

By faith Noah, being divinely warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to save his family, by which he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

For in earlier times of our lives it may have sufficed us to do what the Gentiles like to do, when we walked in immorality: lusts, drunkenness, carousing, debauchery, and abominable idolatries.
