(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” ) before God whom he believed, and who raises the dead, and calls those things that do not exist as though they did.

Truly, truly I say to you, the hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

It is the Spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and are life.

Known to God are all His works since the beginning of the world.

Is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also,

Against all hope, he believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”

If Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit that lives in you.

For before the children had been born, having done neither evil nor good, so that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but through Him who calls,

and, “In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ there they shall be called ‘sons of the living God.’ ”

And God has chosen the inferior things of the world and things which are despised. Yes, and He chose things which are nothing to nullify the things that are,

So it is written, “The first man Adam was made a living soul.” The last Adam was made a life-giving spirit.

I command you, in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who testified a good confession before Pontius Pilate,

Therefore from one man, who was as good as dead, sprang so many, a multitude as the stars of the sky and innumerable as the sand by the seashore.

By faith we understand that the ages were set by the word of God, so that things that are seen were not made out of things which are visible.

By faith Noah, being divinely warned about things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to save his family, by which he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

In times past, you were not a people, but now you are the people of God. You had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

But, beloved, do not be ignorant of this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as one thousand years, and one thousand years as one day.
