Therefore let us pursue the things which produce peace and the things that build up one another.

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things edify.

Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.

just as I try to please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.

But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification and exhortation and comfort.

Again, do you think that we are defending ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. We do all things, beloved, for your edifying.

For we are glad when we are weak, and you are strong. We wish even for your completion.

for the equipping of the saints, for the work of service, and for the building up of the body of Christ,

Let no unwholesome word proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for building up, that it may give grace to the listeners.
