he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with generosity; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification and exhortation and comfort.

For our rejoicing is this: The testimony of our conscience is that we conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you, in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God.

But I fear that somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve through his trickery, so your minds might be led astray from the simplicity that is in Christ.

For if there is a willing mind first, the gift is accepted according to what a man possesses and not according to what he does not possess.

So you will be enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which makes us give thanks to God.

Meanwhile, through the performance of this ministry, they glorify God for the profession of your faith in the gospel of Christ and for your liberal sharing with them and with all others.

Let every man give according to the purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or out of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Servants, obey those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of your heart, as to Christ,

You shall supply him liberally out of your flock, out of your floor, and out of your winepress. From that with which the Lord your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.

You shall rejoice before the Lord your God—you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the foreigner, the orphan, and the widow who are among you—in the place where the Lord your God has chosen to place His name.

Servants, obey your masters in all things according to the flesh, serving not only when they are watching, as the servants of men, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

For our exhortation was not from deceit, nor from impure motive, nor in treachery.

So having great love toward you, we were willing to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you were dear to us.

Until I come, give attention to reading, exhortation, and teaching.

Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and teaching.

Command that they do good, that they be rich in good works, generous, willing to share,

Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but let us exhort one another, especially as you see the Day approaching.

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who must give an account. Let them do this with joy and not complaining, for that would not be profitable to you.

I implore you, brothers, to heed this word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words.

Greet all those who rule over you and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.

Remember those who rule over you, who have proclaimed to you the word of God. Follow their faith, considering the results it has produced in their lives.
