When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble? And when He hides His face, who then can behold Him, whether it is done against a nation or against a man only?
But You, O God, will cast the wicked down to the pit of destruction; bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in You.
Shall evil be recompensed for good? For they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before You to speak good for them, and to turn away Your wrath from them.
I heard, and my body trembled; my lips quivered at the sound; rottenness entered my bones; my legs tremble beneath me. Yet I will wait quietly for the day when calamity comes on the people invading us.
The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time has come for the dead to be judged, and to reward Your servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, small and great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”
Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their works follow them.”
