Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who are enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth!

David and all of the people who were with him arose and went from Baalah of Judah to bring up the ark of God, so named for the name of the Lord of Hosts who sits enthroned among the cherubim that are upon it.

Then Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said, “O  Lord, God of Israel, who sits on the cherubim, You alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made the sky and the earth.

Is it good for You that You should oppress, that You should despise the work of Your hands and smile on the counsel of the wicked?

But He led forth His own people like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock;

Moreover, He rejected the tent of Joseph, and did not choose the tribe of Ephraim,

Restore us, O  Lord God of Hosts; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!

O  Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!

The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble! He sits enthroned above the cherubim; let the earth quake.

He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

Then His people remembered the days of old, of Moses, saying: Where is He who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit in their midst,

As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire and like the appearance of lamps. It went up and down among the living creatures. And the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.

Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub and stood over the threshold of the temple. And the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the glory of the Lord.

I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even My servant David. He shall feed them himself and be their shepherd.

And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east. And His voice was like a noise of many waters. And the earth displayed His glory.

“Now therefore, O God, hear the prayer of Your servant and his supplications, and for Your sake, O Lord, cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary, which is desolate.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and am known by My own.

He said: The Lord came from Sinai and rose up from Seir to them; He shone forth from Mount Paran, and He came with ten thousands of holy ones; from His right hand went a fiery law for them.

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep,

For you were as sheep going astray, but now have been returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of glory that will not fade away.

The city has no need of sun or moon to shine in it, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of Hosts, who dwells above the cherubim. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
