I was foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.
Then I thought in my heart, “Regarding the account of people, God is testing them to show that they are but animals.
A brutish man does not know, nor does a fool understand this:
For he sees that wise men die; the fool and the stupid perish, and leave their wealth to others.
the ox knows his owner, and the donkey his master’s crib, but Israel does not know; My people do not consider.
Surely I am more stupid than any man, and do not have the understanding of a man.
Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be restrained with bit and bridle, or they will not come near you.
O God, You know my folly, and my sins are not hidden from You.
Why are we counted as beasts and regarded as stupid in your sight?
that though the wicked spring up like grass and though all the workers of iniquity flourish, they will be destroyed forever:
