May he vindicate the afflicted of the people, save the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor.

but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and reprove with fairness for the meek of the earth. He shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked.

The blind receive their sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

So it was broken that day, and the afflicted of the flock were watching me and knew that this was the word of the Lord.

So I shepherded the flock that was for slaughter, even the afflicted of the flock. And I took for myself two staffs. One I called Favor and the other I gave the name Union. So I pastured the flock.

For You have broken the yoke of his burden and the bar of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor as in the day of Midian’s defeat.

A wise king winnows out the wicked, and drives the threshing wheel over them.

They break in pieces Your people, O  Lord, and afflict Your heritage.

You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

He will break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their place.

“How long will you torment my soul and break me in pieces with words?

Behold My servant, whom I uphold, My chosen one, in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon him; he shall bring forth justice to the nations.

A bruised reed he shall not break, and the smoking flax he shall not quench; he shall bring forth justice faithfully.
