I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.

For the Lord loves justice, and does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

As a shattering of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

“Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:

lest they tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.

Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, very well. About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

The rest said, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.”

Now it was reported to Saul that David had come to Keilah. And Saul said, “God has delivered him into my hand, for he is shut in by entering a town that has gates and bars.”
