They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have struck me upon the cheek with reproach; they have gathered themselves together against me.

Does He not see my ways, and count all my steps?

who devise evil things in their hearts; continually do they stir up wars.

The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to kill him.

They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down; they have dug a pit before me, but they have fallen into it themselves.   Selah

Then the presidents and officials sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom, but they could find no occasion or fault, because he was faithful, nor was there any error or fault found in him.

Those who had seized Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders had assembled.

When the morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put Him to death.

They watched Him and sent out spies who pretended to be righteous men, that they might seize Him in His words to hand Him over to the power and authority of the governor.
