Surely every man walks around like a shadow; surely they make an uproar in vain; he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.

To the person who is pleasing before Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy, but to the one who sins, He gives the task to gather and collect, to give to the other person who is pleasing before God. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.

I also gathered for myself silver and gold and precious possessions of kings and provinces. I acquired male and female singers, and the sensual delights of any human being, even a harem of many concubines.

and those riches were lost in an unfortunate business deal; and although he has a son, there is nothing left to put in his hand.

Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance.

If you then cannot do what is least, why are you anxious about the other things?

And do not seek what you will eat or what you will drink, nor be of an anxious mind.

and those who use this world, as though they did not make full use of it. For the form of this world is passing away.

whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? It is just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.

Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have stored up treasures for the last days.

For “All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away,

Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you.
