Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit.
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.
He who keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from trouble.
“He committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth.”

Do not lie one to another, since you have put off the old nature with its deeds,
Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger,
We all stumble in many ways. But if any man does not stumble in what he says, he is a complete man and able also to control the whole body.
He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips will come to ruin.
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are His delight.
Truthful lips will endure forever, but a lying tongue will endure for a moment.
I said, “I will guard my ways, lest I sin with my tongue; I will keep a muzzle on my mouth while the wicked are before me.”
Therefore put away all wickedness, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies will perish.
Destruction is in its midst; oppression and deceit do not depart from its marketplace.
For He said, “Surely they are My people, sons who will not lie.” So He became their Savior.
The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous will stand.

Seek good and not evil, so that you may live; then the Lord, the God of Hosts, will truly be with you, as you claim.
