Psalm 22:1

My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far from helping me, and from the words of my groaning?

For my sighing comes before I eat, and my groaning pours forth like the waters.

Why do You stand far off, O  Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?

Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.

Be not far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.

For dogs have encompassed me; the assembly of the wicked has encircled me; they pierced my hands and my feet;

Do not gather my soul with sinners, nor my life with murderers,

For the Lord loves justice, and does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

I am feeble and severely broken; I groan because of the disquietness of my heart.

saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue and take him, for there is no one to deliver him.”

I bring My righteousness near; it shall not be far off, and My salvation shall not tarry. And I will grant salvation in Zion, and My glory for Israel.

We all roar like bears and mourn sadly like doves; we look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us.

Break it into pieces and pour oil on it. It is a grain offering.

About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which means, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

And being in anguish, He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and in the Prophets and in the Psalms concerning Me.”

Let your lives be without love of money, and be content with the things you have. For He has said: “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”

In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death. He was heard because of His godly fear.

As befits His great name, the Lord will not abandon His people. For it has pleased the Lord to make you His people.
