David took the crown of their king from his head, and its weight was a talent of gold and precious stone. It was placed upon the head of David. He brought out large quantities of plunder from the city.

Then the men of Judah came and there anointed David as king over the house of Judah, and they informed David that it was the men of Jabesh-gilead who had buried Saul.

So all of the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them before the Lord at Hebron. They anointed David king over Israel.

Then David took the crown of their king from his head and found it weighed about a talent of gold with a precious stone set in it. And it was placed on David’s head. He also brought out a great abundance of plunder from the city.

“Now rise up, O  Lord God, to Your resting place, both You and the ark of Your strength. And let Your priests, O  Lord God, be clothed in salvation and Your loyal ones rejoice in goodness.

Who has preceded Me that I should repay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.

They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support.

We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.

Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who take refuge in You before the sons of men!

My God in His lovingkindness will go before me; God will cause me to look in triumph on my enemies.

“Or who has first given to Him, and it shall be repaid to him?”

Do you despise the riches of His goodness, tolerance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels to suffer death, crowned with glory and honor, so that He, by the grace of God, should experience death for everyone.

His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written, that no one knows but He Himself.

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord came on David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.
