Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; incline Your ear to me; in the day when I call, answer me speedily.

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.

I called upon the Lord in my distress; the Lord answered me and set me in an open place.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills; from whence comes my help?

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”

Unto You do I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens.

If it had not been the Lord who was on our side— let Israel now say—

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

When the Lord brought back the captives of Zion, we were like those who dream.

Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways.

“Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth—” let Israel now say —

Out of the depths have I cried unto You, O  Lord.

Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I involve myself in great matters, nor in things too profound for me.

O  Lord, remember David and all his afflictions;

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!

Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord!

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried for help to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry to Him reached His ears.

Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.”

Whoever offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies Me; to him who orders his conduct aright, I will show the salvation of God.”

He said: “I called to the Lord out of my distress, and He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard my voice.

You cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and the flood surrounded me. All Your billows and Your waves passed over me.

And being in anguish, He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death. He was heard because of His godly fear.

In due time Hannah conceived and bore a son. And she called his name Samuel, for she said, “I have asked him of the Lord.”

For this boy I prayed, and the Lord has given me my petition which I asked of Him.
