because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and those who dwell here, and you have brought yourself low before Me and torn your clothes and wept before Me, I have heard you, declares the Lord.

He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their prayer.

Also in Judah the hand of God was on the people to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and officials by the word of the Lord.

But He gives more grace. For this reason it says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weaknesses, for we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

The fear of the wicked will come upon him, but the desire of the righteous will be granted.

For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor will the hope of the poor perish forever.

Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced that God had prepared the people, since the events happened suddenly.
