Blessed be the Lord your God, who delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel, because the Lord loved Israel forever; therefore He made you king in order to execute judgment and justice.”

All Israel heard of the king’s judgment, and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to execute sound judgment.

Now then, you kings, be wise; be admonished, you judges of the earth.

The King in His might loves justice; You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.

The king by justice establishes the land, but a man of bribes overthrows it.

by me princes rule, and nobles, all who govern rightly.

I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, a faithful town.

In those days and at that time, I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David; and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the earth.

It is He who changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who know understanding.

You shall be driven away from men, and your dwelling shall be with the wild animals. You shall be given grass to eat like oxen, and wet with the dew of heaven. And seven times shall pass over you, until you have learned that the Most High rules over the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He chooses.

Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist are appointed by God.

I saw heaven opened. And behold, there was a white horse. He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.

On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written: king of kings and lord of lords.

The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from ruling over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have chosen a king for Myself from among his sons.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said to him, “Here is the man of whom I spoke to you! This one will rule over My people.”
