Then Abraham said about Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” So Abimelech, king of Gerar, sent for her and took Sarah.

When the time of mourning was concluded, David sent for her and brought her to his house. She became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done was displeasing to the Lord.

Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Lie with your father’s concubines, whom he left to watch over the palace. When all Israel hears that you have made yourself abhorred by your father, then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.”

You rely upon your sword, you work abominations, and every one of you defiles his neighbor’s wife. Should you then possess the land?

Moreover, you shall not have relations with your neighbor’s wife to defile yourself with her.

If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, even he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

Then I will draw near to you for judgment. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against the perjurers, against those who oppress the hired worker in his wages, the widow and the fatherless, against those who turn aside the stranger, and do not fear Me, says the Lord of Hosts.

Now concerning the things about which you wrote to me: “It is good for a man not to touch a woman.”
