If you have done foolishly in exalting yourself, or if you have devised evil, lay your hand on your mouth.

“Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer You? I will lay my hand over my mouth.

Even a fool, when he holds his peace, is considered wise; when he shuts his lips he is deemed a man of understanding.

Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced, and all the world may become accountable to God.
