Proverbs 3:12

for whom the Lord loves He corrects, as a father the son in whom he delights.

You must also consider in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you.

“Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore be zealous and repent.

Correct your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your soul.

He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him.

for whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and scourges every son whom He receives.”
