The fear of man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord will be safe.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

“I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that can do no more.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

He who wisely heeds a word will find good, and he who trusts in the Lord, happy is he.

Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

Through Him you believe in God who raised Him up from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God.

They were helped against them, and the Hagrites and all who were with them were delivered into their hand, for they cried to God in the battle, and He heard their prayer because they trusted in Him.

His parents said this, because they feared the Jews. For the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed that He was the Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue.

He came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”

Do not fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Abraham said, “Because I thought, surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will slay me because of my wife.

Of whom were you afraid or fearful when you lied and you did not remember Me, nor give Me a thought? Have I not held My peace for a long time so that you do not fear Me?

The men of the place asked him about his wife. And he said, “She is my sister,” for he was afraid to say, “She is my wife,” thinking, “The men of the place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful in appearance.”

Then Abraham said about Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” So Abimelech, king of Gerar, sent for her and took Sarah.

Then the king was exceeding glad for him and commanded that they take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of harm was found on him, because he believed in his God.

It is good that you take hold of these two sayings, and from these warnings, remove not your hand; for the one who fears God will follow them both.

He who is greedy stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the Lord will prosper.

Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and your words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended after they heard this saying?”

But I am afflicted and in pain; let Your salvation, O God, set me safely on high.

Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him. They have defied the king’s word and yielded their bodies, so that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

You shall not show partiality in judgment, but you shall hear the small as well as the great. You shall not be afraid in any man’s presence, for the judgment is God’s. The case that is too hard for you, you shall bring it to me, and I will hear it.”

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

Hold me up, that I may be safe, and that I may observe Your statutes continually.

He said to her, “If they bind me with new ropes that have never been used, then I will become weak and be like an ordinary man.”

Therefore he changed his behavior before them and pretended to be insane in their hands. And he scratched on the doors of the gate and let his spittle run down his beard.
