The words of a slanderer are like tasty morsels; they go down into the innermost parts of the heart.

He who goes about as a slanderer betrays secrets; therefore associate not with the babbler.

In you are men who carry slanders to shed blood. And in you they eat at the mountain shrines. In your midst they commit lewdness.

You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, nor shall you stand by while the life of your neighbor is in danger: I am the Lord.
