Like he who takes a passing dog by the ears, is one who meddles in a quarrel not his own.

An evil man seeks only rebellion; so a fierce messenger will be sent against him.

The lips of a fool enter into contention, and his mouth calls for a beating.

It is an honor for a man to cease from strife, but any fool is quick to quarrel.

Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death,

Do not strive with a man without cause, when he has done you no harm.

Jesus said to him, “Man, who appointed Me a judge or an arbitrator between you?”
