Like clouds and wind without the rain, so is he who boasts himself of a false gift.

Zedekiah the son of Kenaanah made horns of iron and said, “Thus says the Lord: With these you shall push the Arameans until you have consumed them.”

Many a man will proclaim each his own goodness, but a loyal man, who can find?

And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them. Thus it shall be done to them!

If a man, going about vapidly and deceitfully, lies, “I will preach for you wine and beer,” he would be just the preacher for this people.

For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forevermore, knows that I am not lying.

These men are grumblers, complainers, who walk after their own lusts. Their mouths speak arrogant words, and they flatter others to gain profit.
