The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.

“Because the poor are plundered, because the needy sigh, now I will arise,” says the Lord; “I will place him in the safety for which he yearns.”

The words of the Lord are pure words, silver tried in an earthen furnace, purified seven times.

I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and justice for the poor.

Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.

You shall not afflict any widow or orphan.

If you afflict them in any way and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry.

The violence of the wicked will drag them away, because they refuse to do justice.

for their Redeemer is strong; He will plead their cause against you.

Woe to you, O destroyer, though you were not destroyed, and he who is treacherous, though others did not deal treacherously with you! When you cease destroying, you shall be destroyed; and when you finish dealing treacherously, others shall deal treacherously with you.

Therefore all who devour you will be devoured; and all your adversaries, every one of them, will go into captivity. And those who plunder you will become plunder, and all who prey upon you I will give for prey.

Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of Hosts is His name. He will thoroughly plead their case, that He may give rest to the land, but disquiet to the inhabitants of Babylon.

Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will plead your cause, and take vengeance for you. And I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.

I will endure the rage of the Lord, because I have sinned against Him, until the time when He pleads my case and executes judgment for me. He will bring me out into the light; I will look upon His vindication.

Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the people will plunder you, because of the bloodshed of men and violence of the land, of the cities and all who live in them.

Then I will draw near to you for judgment. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against the perjurers, against those who oppress the hired worker in his wages, the widow and the fatherless, against those who turn aside the stranger, and do not fear Me, says the Lord of Hosts.

The Lord will judge between me and you, and the Lord will avenge me on you, but my hand will not be against you.

May the Lord be judge, and decide between me and you. And may He see and plead my case, and deliver me out of your hand.”

When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, “Blessed is the Lord, who has defended the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept His servant from evil. For the Lord has returned the wickedness of Nabal upon his own head.” And David sent and spoke with Abigail, to take her as his wife.
