Take the garment of him who has put up security for a stranger, and hold it as a pledge for a foreigner.

He who guarantees loans for a stranger will suffer, but he who hates pledging collateral is secure.

to deliver you from the wayward woman, from the adulteress who flatters with her words,

There is gold and a multitude of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

The bread of deceit is sweet to a man, but afterward is his mouth filled with gravel.

For a prostitute is a deep pit; and an adulteress is a narrow well.

Take the garment of him who has put up security for a stranger; seize the pledge when he puts up security for an adulteress.

For the lips of an adulteress drip as honey, and her speech is smoother than oil,

My son, if you put up a security for your friend, if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger,

And behold, a woman met him, with the attire of a prostitute and with crafty intent.
