He who is the first to make his case seems righteous, but his neighbor comes and cross-examines him.

When his master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, “This is what your servant did to me,” he became enraged.

He who answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame to him.

The gift of a man opens the way for him, and brings him before great men.

Casting lots settles disputes; and keeps the mighty apart.
