behold, I now do according to your words. Behold, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart, so that there has never been anyone like you in the past, and there shall never arise another like you.

You are fairer than the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever.

On the lips of him who has understanding, wisdom is found, but a rod is for the back of him who lacks understanding.

Doing evil is like sport to a fool; so is wisdom to a man of understanding.

The wise in heart will receive commands, but a prating fool will fall.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but not so the heart of fools.

Understanding is a fountain of life to him who has it, but the discipline of fools is folly.

My son, if your heart is wise, my heart will indeed rejoice.

The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned, that I may know how to sustain him who is weary with a word; He awakens me morning by morning; He awakens my ear to listen as the learned.

Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever prudent, let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right, and the just will walk in them; but the transgressors stumble in them.

At that time Jesus said, “I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to infants.

All bore witness to Him, and wondered at the gracious words which came from His mouth. Then they said, “Is this not Joseph’s son?”

The officers answered, “No man has ever spoken like this Man.”

Your obedience has become known to all men. Therefore I am glad on your behalf. Yet I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
