The road of the sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the righteous is a highway.
Who is the man who fears the Lord? He will teach him the way that he should choose.
Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me on a level path, because of my enemies.
Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; make Your way straight before me.
The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked will fall by his own wickedness.
An angry man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger pacifies a quarrel.
A wise son delights his father, but a foolish man despises his mother.
The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets!”
Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse; he who guards his soul will be far from them.
The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! There is a lion in the streets!”
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways and be wise,
They are all plain to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left.
A highway shall be there, a roadway, and it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass on it, but it shall be for the wayfaring men, and fools shall not wander on it.
And it shall be said, “Build up, build up, prepare the way, take up every stumbling block out of the way of My people.”
