Anxiety in the heart of man weighs it down, but a good word cheers it up.

A sound mind is the life of the flesh, but envy is the rottenness of the bones.

A heart of cheer does good like a medicine, but a wounded spirit dries up the bones.

So on the contrary, you ought to forgive him and comfort him, lest perhaps he might be swallowed up with excessive sorrow.

Godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation and brings no regret, but the sorrow of the world produces death.
