A righteous man hates lying, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace.

I hate and abhor lying, but Your law do I love.

The soul of the sluggard desires and gets nothing, but the soul of the diligent will be made fat.

When the wicked comes, then comes contempt, and with dishonor comes disgrace.

The wise will inherit honor, but fools get shame.

Remove far from me falsehood and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with my daily bread,

a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

There you shall remember your ways and all your deeds in which you have been defiled. And you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.

Then you shall remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and your abominations.

Those of you who escape shall remember Me among the nations wherever they shall be carried captive, because I am broken by their whorish heart which has departed from Me, and with their eyes which play the harlot after their idols. And they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake—some to everlasting life, and others to everlasting shame and contempt.

I destroyed the three shepherds in the span of one month. For my soul was impatient with them, and their souls detested me.

Therefore, putting away lying, let every man speak truthfully with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.

Do not lie one to another, since you have put off the old nature with its deeds,

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the abominable, the murderers, the sexually immoral, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars shall have their portion in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.”

He said to her, “If they bind me with new ropes that have never been used, then I will become weak and be like an ordinary man.”
