The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked will fall by his own wickedness.

When Ahithophel realized that his advice was not followed, he saddled his donkey and returned to his house in his own city. He gave instruction to his household, then he hanged himself and died; he was interred in the tomb of his father.

The steps of his strength will be shortened, and his own counsel will cast him down.

Then the men of Israel turned around, and the men of Benjamin were horrified because they saw that disaster had come on them.
