When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is singing.

All the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. They had killed Athaliah with the sword at the king’s house.

And she saw the king standing by the pillar at the entrance with the officials and trumpeters next to the king, and all of the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets, and singers with their instruments with songs were offering up praise. Then Athaliah tore her garments and yelled, “Treachery! Treachery!”

And all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city had peace when they put Athaliah to death with the sword.

Men will clap their hands at him and will hiss him out of his place.

Miriam answered them, “Sing to the Lord, for He triumphed gloriously! The horse and his rider He has hurled into the sea.”

By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.

When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked prevail, men hide themselves.

When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous thrive.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan.

Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is in it, shall sing for joy over Babylon; for the destroyers will come to her from the north, says the Lord.

“May all Your enemies perish like this, O  Lord! But may those who love Him rise like the sun when it rises in full strength.” Then the land was at peace for forty years.
