For to you it was granted on behalf of Christ not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,
Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
and by Him everyone who believes is justified from everything from which you could not be justified by the Law of Moses.
strengthening the minds of the disciples and exhorting them to continue in the faith, to go through many afflictions and thus enter the kingdom of God.
When they arrived and had assembled the church, they reported what God had done through them and how He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.
Then they departed from the presence of the Sanhedrin, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
Not only so, but we also boast in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces patience,
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not of yourselves. It is the gift of God,
buried with Him in baptism, in which also you were raised with Him through the faith of the power of God, who has raised Him from the dead.
My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations,
But rejoice insofar as you share in Christ’s sufferings, so that you may rejoice and be glad also in the revelation of His glory.
